If you do, someone else wants to own it. A recent study shows then ranch style homes are the most desirable style of home this year. Over 40% of all home buyers are looking to buy a ranch.
The second most desirable home style, a contemporary home, only has 28% of home buyers looking for that style.
Younger buyers are trending towards purchasing a row house or a townhouse. This attraction to attached homes seems to wane as they get older when they prefer to purchase a single family home.
Changing to other desirable features, three-quarters of home buyers are looking for a home with two bathrooms. Over half of the buyers are looking for 3 bedrooms. These home buyers, especially if they have young children, desire a big backyard.
Another must have for many homebuyers is a remodeled kitchen. The kitchen is ranked by 80% of the buyers as one of their three favorite rooms. A garage and a master bedroom are also high on their wish list.
What don’t these buyers want? Things that are no longer in vogue are a guest house, a man cave, a mother in-law suite and solar panels.
