Are you looking for a DIY project which combines your love of drinking wine while putting all of those excess wine corks to good use.? Here’s a great one that I enjoyed.
What To Do With the Corks
Few people question the benefits of drinking wine, and I’m told by my doctor it’s good for my health. In fact, I know it’s good for my mental health. And it tastes good too. In addition, there’s a side effect that comes along with drinking wine. And this side effect is that you have excess wine corks left over.
Trivet
Corks can be used in numerous handy little projects around the house. One simple use it as a trivet or a hot plate. Get a piece of wood, cut it to the shape you want it, possibly you can put a frame around the outside and glue the corks down to the bottom. And put whatever you want on it without worry about burning or scarring the counter top surfaces. This is just a nice easy project to do.
Backsplash
First you need to cut the corks in half. The best way I found was to use a scroll saw. A scroll saw is like a miniature band saw. I cut a piece of plywood to the proper size and glued corks onto the plywood. Then I installed the plywood with the corks on to the back splash using double face tape. It looks great, it’s unique.
So there’s a couple of use for ear uses for your wine cork. So go start drinking.
