This is a subject that I find interesting. I’ve known for a while that single, first time buyers are a significant part of the market. Even though we’ve sold many homes to singles I had never realized something. But I recently read an article which prompted me to go through my records. The article said that 24% of all the recent buyers were single when they purchase their home.

Another Surprising Statistic
But, while digging deeper and doing more research, I found another surprising statistic. Single female buyers comprise 18% of all buyers. This is an increase over 2016, which was 16% . The single, female’ buyer’s median age is 54. And female single buyers are outpacing single male buyers at a ratio of almost 2 to 1. In addition, single women are the second largest group of home buyers, only exceeded by married couples. These married couples still dominate the market as they account for almost two thirds of all home sales.
Bottom Line
