The Golden Rule.

When we were young, most of us were taught the Golden Rule. The simply says to treat others as you would like to be treated. Let us look how this applies to real estate.

Your house is for sale, and since there is such a strong seller’s market, you decide to be a little picky about which offer you choose. And once you choose that offer maybe you don’t treat the buyer quite right. You may ignore a  request they make to make life a little bit easier or better, or simply refuse repairing some issues found at the inspection.  You do this thinking at such a strong seller’s market, you don’t need to do anything to make it easy for the sellers.

But at some point in time, you may push that buyer to the limits of where they can or want to go. And they may walk out and cancel the transmission. If this happens, you’ve just lost a buyer. Will you find a new one? Probably. But how long will it take? It could take weeks, you could take months.

And now you have a situation where a sale has fallen through, and this quite often makes buyers a bit leery of your property. They think there’s something wrong. And you know something else? The buyers are right. There is something wrong.

It’s a seller who is not treating other people as they should.
