About Princeton Commons

Princeton Commons is a 55+ Active Adult Over 55 Community in Brick, Ocean County.  It’s in a great location, because you can walk to Windward Beach where you can enjoy concerts in addition to swimming in the Metedeconk River. In addition, marinas aralso within walking distance. Brick is close to shopping, boating, dining and The Jersey Shore. Also, your pets are allowed in Princeton Commons.

Since there’s a homeowners association, there’s a monthly association fee. But when you combine the low homeowners association fee with Brick’s low taxes, it’s an attractive location for seniors.

Furthermore, like most 55+ communities, a one time fee is charged by the HOA to all new owners.

The Homes in Princeton Commons

Between 1989 and 1995, almost 400 homes were built in Princeton Commons.  Since new construction is no longer available, only resales are available. These  2 bedrooms detached single family homes have a 1 car garage, with sizes ranging from 1400 square feet to 1600 square feet. Since all homes are ranch style homes, you can “Live Flat“. As a matter of fact, a few homes have a basement. Plus, many homes back up to wooded areas. These homes generally sell from the mid $200,000s to the upper $300,000s. The monthly association fee is reasonable, and provides lawn maintenance, snow removal, trash removal and common area maintenance.

The Princeton Commons Clubhouse

At the heart of community is the clubhouse which offers, among other amenities, a library, a billiard room and card rooms. Outdoors, there is shuffleboard & tennis courts. Since this is the social center of Princeton Commons, it’s where you go to socialize with your neighbors and to make new friends. There are also trips, socials and clubs to keep you active. Also, there’s an exercise area for those who want to stay in shape. When the weather gets warm, you can cool off in the outdoor pool and relax with your friends and neighbors. And if you don’t want to be involved, that’s okay too. Then you can enjoy local activities such as fishing, boating, golf,  dining and more. Additionally, there’s a monthly newsletter to keep you up to date.

While Princeton Commons doesn’t have a golf course, many public courses are available in Ocean County. Furthermore, boating enthusiasts love that marinas on the Metedeconk River are within walking distance. During the summer, free concerts are nearby at Windward Beach.

Transportation, Shopping and Dining

The Ocean County transit system provides bus transportation throughout Ocean County.  Ocean County’s Ocean Ride program has 12 local bus routes that transport seniors (age 60 or older) to shopping, other adult communities social services and other transportation hubs. Access to the Garden State Parkway (exit 89) and other major roadways is easy. And if you want to go to New York City to either play or to work, train service from New Jersey Transit is available nearby in Point Pleasant. Nearby in Lakewood, you can access bus service to New York in addition to local service on Route 9,

Nearby on Route 79 in Brick is an abundance of shopping centers. In addition, there are three major malls within a 45 minute drive. Those malls are in Freehold, Eatontown and Toms River. Also, Brick Blvd is wall to wall shopping centers, and a CostCo is a few miles away in Lakewood.

There are many restaurants in both Brick and Point Pleasant, especially if you like seafood. We recommend the Shore Fresh Seafood Market in Point Pleasant. Or for a good burger, try Harpoon Willy’s in Brick.

Medical Service

Nearby in Brick you’ll find Ocean Medical Center, which is part of Hackensack Meridian Health Group. And where there’s a hospital, there are medical practices.

Ocean County, through their Reserve-A-Ride Program,  provides non-emergency medical transportation service to seniors (age 60 and over). You will need advance reservations, plus, a fee is charged.
