Locally you’ll find that there is shopping with upscale stores. Additionally there is shopping and dining nearby on Long Beach Island. Further, Barnegat has a Historic District with shops, antiquing, marinas, restaurants and museums.

Barnegat is only minutes from the Atlantic Ocean at Long Beach Island. In addition, it’s 30 minutes from Atlantic City and 90 minutes from Philadelphia. There are marinas in the area for boating enthusiasts, as well as golf courses.

Commute and Transportation

Barnegat is in a great location because it’s near exit 67 of the Garden State Parkway. Ocean Ride provides bus transportation within Ocean County There are 12 bus routes which connect key residential areas with popular destinations. In addition, New Jersey Transit offers bus service.

Medical Care

The closest hospitals are Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin and Community Hospital in Toms River. The county transit system, Ocean Ride, provides bus transportation throughout Ocean County. The Reserve-A-Ride Program provides door-to-door, non-emergency medical transportation service to seniors (age 60 and over).  Advance reservations are necessary, however, there is a fee for this service.. Furthermore, Ocean Ride also has 12 local bus routes. These can take riders to shopping, in addition to other adult communities and more.
