About Brick
Brick has a population of ~ 75,000. Despite the large population and the large size of the town, it has consistently been named as one of the safest towns in the country to live.
Homes
There are 10 Active Adult communities in Brick. In fact, there are about 4500 homes. The homes are either single family homes and condos, and they were built from the 1970’s into 2001. In addition, there are also many single family homes and condos / townhouses that are not in adult communities.
Dining and Shopping
The major shopping areas are on Route 70 and Old Hooper Ave. There are big box electronics stores, department and furniture stores, in addition to warehouse outlets, home improvement and much more. Additionally, most national chain restaurants have a presence in Brick. Furthermore, there are many other fine restaurants offering every type of cuisine imaginable.
Recreation and Entertainment
Enjoy the free concerts and movie nights at Windward Beach during the summer. When the weather is warm, swim at Windward Beach or one of the three ocean beaches. There are many marinas for your boat along the Metedeconk River offering access to the ocean and Barnegat Bay. Charter boat fishing is also available. Public golf courses as well as country clubs are nearby. You can also visit one of the public parks such as the Brick Reservoir.
Transportation
Brick is conveniently located in northern Ocean County, because there are multiple exits from the Garden State Parkway, with easy access to Rt 9, Rt 70 and I-195. NJ Transit also offers bus service to NYC. Ocean Ride provides bus transportation within Ocean County. There are 12 bus routes connecting key residential areas, shopping, employment and social services.
Medical Care
Medical care is available at Brick Memorial Hospital. Therefore, you’ll find numerous doctor and medical offices nearby. Ocean Ride provides door-to-door, non-emergency medical transportation service to seniors (age 60 and over) and person with disabilities. However, there is a small fee charged for this service.
