About Gardens of Pleasant Plains
Gardens of Pleasant Plains is an 55+ Active Adult, Over 55 community in Toms River, Ocean County, NJ. Built between 1968 and 1974, there are some duplex homes, but most are single family detached homes. The homes have either 1 or 2 bedrooms with a garage, and are priced in the lower price ranges. Actually, this is one of the few adult communities that allows you to fence in your yard. As is becoming common in adult communities, there is a one time entrance fee payable at closing. When you combine the low taxes and low association fees, this is a desirable destination for many seniors.
Gardens of Pleasant Plains has a low yearly association fee, which covers common area maintenance, trash removal and snow removal. Are you looking for a community with a clubhouse and pool? Sorry but you won’t find those amenities here. But you can enjoy local activities such as fishing, boating, golf, shopping, dining and much much more. And the beaches at the Jersey Shore are nearby.
Transportation
The Ocean County transit system, Ocean Ride, provides bus transportation throughout Ocean County. There are 12 bus routes that connect key residential areas with popular destinations such as shopping, and employment, in addition to social services. Furthermore, the Reserve-A-Ride Program provides door-to-door, non-emergency medical transportation service. This transports seniors (age 60 and over) to medical facilities in Ocean County. You’ll need advance reservations but a fee is charged.
Gardens of Pleasant Plains has a great location because it’s just minutes from Route 9 and the Garden State Parkway. As a result, Atlantic City, north Jersey, shopping, and dining are nearby. Additionally, the beaches at the Jersey Shore are near.
